The 45th Annual Kona
Community Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration will take place on Sunday,
January 18, 2026, at Maka`eo Pavilion, Old Airport
Beach Park, in Kailua-Kona. This is a
free event with free lunch that will be served for the celebrants at 12:30
PM. The program will start at 1:30PM
with music, songs, and dance, and artwork from local school children. This is a
annual celebration that is open to the public to mark the anniversary of Dr.
King’s birthday and to honor his life, work, and legacy. As the struggle for human and civil rights
continues to challenge our nation and the world, this event provides our
community with the hope, and encouragement that we need during these
challenging times. Please join us to
rededicate ourselves to the vision of Dr. King - racial equality,
non-discrimination, and social justice through non-violent means.
